Biography
Meteorologist, diploma at University Karlsruhe in 2000. PhD at KIT in 2004 in radar meteorology. Postdoc at KIT 2004-2010 in the fields of cloud microphysics and high resolution numerical modeling of deep convective clouds. 2010-present senior researcher at DWD in Offenbach in the fields of cloud microphysics, high-resolution NWP, radar forward operator EMVORADO and radar data assimilation. Since 2017 project leader of SINFONY, the combination of Nowcasting and NWP at the convective scale at DWD.
