Yannis Schumann completed both his bachelor's and master's degrees in physics at the University of Hamburg. There, he specialized in ultrafast x-ray physics, but also took seminars on biomedical and interdisciplinary topics. Since 2021, he has been working as a PhD student at the Chair for High Performance Computing at the Helmut-Schmidt-University. Here, he mainly works on classification of biomedical data and stencil inference for discrete differential operators.
