Biography
I was a founding member of the Centre for Novel Computing, a High Performance Research Group based in the School of Computer Science at the University of Manchester, where I stayed
for over 20 years. In 2012 I moved to STFC Daresbury Laboratory where I continue to pursue my interests in performance, portability and productivity. The majority of my research and development over the past 20 years has been undertaken in the Earth System Modelling and Integrated Assessment domains in which I have developed the BFG coupling system and the PSyclone code generation and transformation system which is used to parallelise the Met Office's next generation Weather and Climate model (LFRic).
