Biography
After graduating in physics at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), I obtained a Ph.D. in plasma physics at the Swiss Plasma Centre of EPFL with a thesis discussing verification and validation procedures applied to plasma turbulence simulation codes. I then moved to the UK, where I carried out a Post-doc at the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy. My research activity there, as a Post-doc as well as a researcher, was focused on modelling plasma turbulence and filament dynamics at the tokamak periphery and on validating simulation results against experimental measurements. Recently, I moved to Ticino, at the Istituto Ricerche Solari Locarno (IRSOL), where I model plasma turbulence and electromagnetic radiation at the solar and stellar surfaces.
