 the abstract of the minisymposium: “The minisymposium aims to benefit our 
 community by setting the following goals: 1) to connect the prominent memb
 ers of the current bleeding edge research in cellular flow simulations and
  display the state of the art of these simulations 2) to provide a platfor
 m for an open forum directed discussion after the presentations to deliber
 ate on the current limitations, necessary validations, overlaps and unique
  features in functionality, and upcoming targets in the development of the
 se codes.” The directed discussion is planned to involve interaction and a
 ctive participation of the presenters and the audience. By the end of the 
 discussion we aim to reach a common position of the experts on the current
  state of cellular blood flow simulation, and their position in biomedical
