 Conradin, Coreixas, Lätt, Di Meglio...\n\nWe developed PalaCell2D, a numer
 ical framework to model tissue growth. It is based on the dynamics of inte
 racting cells described by their contour, deformability, proliferation rat
 e and contact with neighbors. We simulate such a tissue in different situa
 tions and compare the behavior with the corresponding in-vitro experiments
 . In particular we first consider a growing tissue in a capsule and the pr
 oliferation rate as a function of the mechanical pressure. Second, we simu
 late a front of cells laterally confined within two walls and its movement
  due to proliferation and cell motility. A good agreement is found between
